Seriously, I’m not crying wolf

As we were leaving Cherokee to head back over to Bryson City, I happened to catch something out of the corner of my eye jumping up out of the woods by the roadside. As I quickly glanced back I realized it was a wolf. Needless to say I quickly pulled over, grabbed the camera and started snapping pics. I got a couple of him looking straight at me but they were pretty far away. This was the best shot I could get using maximum zoom on the camera.
We’re guessing he was scavenging for food cause we saw him walk up a little farther and start tearing into a bag of garbage that had been set just outside the door of this building.

A quick jaunt to Cherokee, NC

We took a quick trip to Cherokee, NC on Sunday, July 5th since it was only about 10 miles away. I was able to take a number of cool pics while we were there. This particular one is pretty funny to me. Personally, I need a little more compelling reason to stay at a Motel than they were offering.
I wrote a quick blog post about this picture over at the DDS blog too.

My lovely wife

I was very pleased with how this shot of Ginger turned out. On July the 4th we took about a 3 mile hike through the Great Smoky Mountains State Park. This shot was taken in front of Juney Whank Falls. I was trying to get sort of a Macro type feel but I couldn’t get far away enough given the terrain to and trail limitations to make that happen. Even so, I love this picture.

Beautiful Mountains in Bryson City, NC

Here is another photo that I took while we were visiting Bryson City, NC. You might not be able to see it in this smaller photo, but there are two small cabins near the foot of the mountain. I thought it was really cool how they were just parked right there. Wish they were mine.
