Gwinnett Braves Open House was a blast!!

We went out to check out the new Gwinnett Braves stadium this afternoon. They hosted an Open House from 3 to 8 p.m. I must say, I’ve heard a lot of folks claim that there isn’t a bad seat in a minor league ballpark. Now I’ve actually seen this for myself. No matter where you sit in this ballpark, you can get a good look at the action.

Tom Glavine and Charlie Morton both were out this afternoon doing a little rehab work. It was fun to get to watch a legend like Tommy Glavine get out there and work on the basics.

I can’t wait till April 17th. (The home opener). Here are some pictures from the afternoon.

We’re FINALLY buying a house

As many of you have heard already, we are finally under contract to buy a house. We’ve wondered many times why the previous 3 houses we tried to buy just didn’t work out and now we know. They just weren’t what the good Lord wanted us to have. This house is amazing and is certainly one that we can live in for many years to come.

I could ooze and ooze about everything but I’ll keep it short cause we want everyone to come over and see it in person after we get closed and moved in. So, briefly, here are a few of the great things about this house…

  • 3/4 of an acre lot that is wooded and beautiful
  • Ranch w/ full finished basement including Kitchen, Fireplace, and Bathroom
  • 3 Bedrooms 2 Full Baths upstairs
  • New Carpet, New Paint, New Appliances, New Heating & A/C System, New Hot Water Heater, and New Roof
  • Swim and Tennis Neighborhood

Pretty much, this house is everything we’ll ever need and a lot of things we won’t. Check out some pictures here.

Fun weekend at the ballpark

First cutScoring on a passed ballWe had a fun weekend at the ballpark. Stephen had a game on Saturday and Sunday. The Sunday game was a makeup game from last weekend when we got rained out.

Saturday’s game was excellent. We played the East Hall Spartans. Stephen started the game and played all 7 innings. He went 2 for 3 with a double, single, and a walk. He also scored two runs during the game. The final score was 8 – 3; we won. I’ve loaded up a couple of pictures here for you to check out since it was the official “opening day”. These are of his second at bat of the day when he hit the double down the Left Field line and then scored.

Sundays game was fun as well. Stephen didn’t get much playing time in this game, but he did get in a couple of innings. He went 0 for 1 at the plate. Defensively, he nearly threw a runner out at home plate from Right Field. When it was all said and done though, the Falcons came out on top 7 – 6.
