We’re getting a $20,000 discount on our new house
Posted by Jarrod Skeggs in Family happenings on April 16th, 2009
Yep. You read that right. As most of you know, we’ve been house hunting actively since about the 3rd week of February of this year. And it’s been quite an adventure. The house we currently have under contract is the 4th one we’ve attempted to buy.
To make a potentially long story short, the Appraiser ended up appraising the house for $20,000 less than the agreed upon sales price. At first, we were a bit disappointed but we quickly came to the realization that such an appraisal was a good thing for us. It meant that worst case, we weren’t going to overpay for a house, and best case, we might get this house for a lot less than we initially agreed to pay. Obviously, the latter has happened.
Now, I’ve had folks tell me we’re lucky, that it’s good karma, and that we must be living right. All I can say is, that Ginger and I believe that God is obviously looking out for us. We really had nothing to do with it. Call it what you will, but we call it a blessing from the Lord.
We close on April 27th and needless to say, we’re super pumped about it. And BTW, if you’re not busy on May 1, 2, or 3, go ahead and block those days out to help us move…
A potential new home for the Skeggs’ family

So, we went out this afternoon and took a look at a home that we are interested in buying. It’s a very simple home but it would be perfect for our family. Some pictures are posted here. Leave us some comments and tell us what you think.
